These reports are written on the fly during the conference and posted on the web on a daily(ish) basis, as there are 5 concurrent themes I can not attend all sessions so these comments are based on my own experiences and views. This year I am attending the conference as a member of the press for the journal Computers Informatics Nursing.
Most of my immediate comments/thoughts/photos etc will be posted on the conference blog which I have pioneered with Peter Murray. You are welcome to comment on items on the blog or register & have more flexibility over what you post.
The official conference web sites is at: http://www.health-informatics.org/
Social Activities, Travel etc
My comments about social activites etc will go here
I am staying at the Yorkshire Hotel
As the Education Steps think tank finished on the Friday and work for HC really started on Sunday I had a little time (and good weather) and managed to get my boots on and walk in Nidderdale from Pately Bridge for a couple of miles, and a trip minto the Yorkshire Dales National Park when a trip from Kettlewell to Coverdale showed a real difference between the spring like valleys with lambs and daffodils and the wintery and windy moor which still had snow and ice in the hollows. The drive back included Masham & the Theakston Brewery Visitor Centre !
The sunday evening included a pleasant meal and conversation at the Cattlemens Association
The monday evening included a reception for international delegates from the Mayor of Harrogate at the Pump Room followed by diner with various UK and internmational delegates at the Horoscope Chinese restaurant.
| The conference dinner on the Tuesday evening had a wild west theme and was held at the majestic hotel the evening consisted of dancing at a "hoedown", elvis presley, dancing girls and gambling. | |
