NHSnet: a cost-effective medium for continuing professional education.
This paper was published in British Journal of HealthCare Computing & Information Management October 1997 Vol 14, No 8, pp30-32

Abstract:

This paper argues for the potential of NHSnet to be further realised by its use as an important educational medium for all NHS staff. This is placed against the clinical and managerial drives for the development of NHSnet.
The role and philosophy of networked education, relating to student-centered approaches, and improved accessibility are discussed, along with some of the technical issues.
